The Artist

Nick Price is a solo artist based in Indiana, creating illustrated works that sit somewhere between reverence and rebellion. His work draws on the iconography of the American West — cowboys, wide-open landscapes, folk heroes, and the stories we tell ourselves about who we are — and runs it through a filter that's equal parts psychedelic, satirical, and sincere.

What Is 'Acid Western,' Anyway?

Glad you asked. "Acid Western" is a term borrowed from a subgenre of film that took the classic Western and twisted it — stripping away the clean moral lines, leaning into the surreal, and asking harder questions about the myths we've built around American identity. Nick's art does the same thing. It's Western imagery, but not the sanitized kind. It's the kind that makes you look twice, maybe laugh, maybe think — and hopefully both at once.

The Journey

Pop Americana has been around since 2011, starting as a small Etsy shop and growing into something Nick never quite planned but always hoped for. Over a decade of prints, apparel, and a steadily growing community of people who appreciate art that doesn't take itself too seriously — but takes its craft very seriously.

How It's Made

Every piece starts as an illustration, hand-crafted with deliberate detail before it ever becomes a print. Nick designs each work with the final product in mind — the weight of the paper, the richness of the ink, the way a frame will either complete or complicate the image.
